Leo Laporte Rethinks SocialMedia
by joe on August 22, 2010
Digital content guru Leo Laporte has an interesting post about what value Social media has really provided him over the past few years.
Essentially, Google Buzz went down for him for almost 20 days, and nobody said anything about it to him. He’s an extremely prolific poster and but not a single one of his 17,000 followers on buzz noticed.
He feels that anything he’s twittered, buzz’d, friendfeed’d, and whatever else’d has been pointless and lost into the void. So he’s back to posting in a primary venue, his blog.
I think it’s a good move to consolidate and simplify where you’re at rather than blast at every possible corner of the internet.
On a related note, my blog (the one you’re reading right now) got hacked and was apparently down for the last few weeks. And no one noticed. Not even myself.
Oh well.
